Day 2 | A Little Bit of Unexpected
Dear Self,
Today didn’t come with a plan. No big to-dos, no deadlines chasing me. Just a regular midweek kind of day.
I lingered a little longer over my morning matcha... oat milk, tiny bit of cinnamon. I think I finally nailed the ratio. Stirred it slowly, stood by the window while it frothed. The sun was already up but gentle, like it was easing into the day too.
I worked from the kitchen table today. It’s closer to the snacks, which felt like a solid life choice. Took a call in my hoodie, didn’t bother fixing my hair. No one minded.
Around lunchtime, I played my “clean the house but make it dramatic” playlist and ended up dancing while I folded laundry. That was unexpected and honestly, kind of fun.
Later in the afternoon, a friend sent me a video of her baby taking their first steps. I must’ve watched it three times. The little wobble, the laugh it made my whole face light up. Funny how joy travels like that.
Dinner was just pasta, but I added fresh basil and felt fancy. I lit a candle again. I think this is becoming a thing. After that, I made an evening matcha and just sat with it. No phone, no noise. Just me and a warm cup.
It wasn’t an extraordinary day. But it was full in its own way.
Love,
Nokū
