Nokū Matcha is an Indian brand bringing first flush ceremonial matcha from Kagoshima, Japan, to people who need a moment to pause.

Why Nokū exists
Nokū started from something I personally felt. I’ve been working in corporates for years, and I feel like our generation has grown up with constant hustle culture, always working, always chasing the next thing, and somehow feeling guilty when we take a break.
I wanted to create a brand that felt like the opposite of that. Something that reminds you that taking a pause is not a bad thing, and that you don’t always have to be doing something.
That’s really where Nokū came from.
Why matcha
Matcha felt like the perfect first product, because the whole ritual of making and drinking it naturally creates a little pause in your day. You sift, you pour, you whisk, and for a few minutes nothing else needs your attention.
Eventually, we plan to grow Nokū beyond matcha into more products that carry the same idea.
What the name means
Nokū (noh-koo, often written Noku) comes from two Japanese kanji: 能 (No), meaning art or skill, and 空 (Kū), meaning sky or stillness. The art of stillness.
Our matcha
- Origin: Kagoshima, Japan
- Harvest: First flush (Ichibancha), the first spring harvest
- Grade: Ceremonial, the only grade we sell
- Processing: Shade-grown for 3–4 weeks, slowly stone-ground
- Ingredients: 100% green tea. No sugar, no additives
- Compliance: Packed and sold in India under FSSAI licence
Beyond the tin
Alongside our ceremonial matcha powder, hojicha powder and traditional tools, we run matcha workshops, set up matcha bars for weddings and events, offer corporate gifting, and supply cafés and brands with wholesale matcha across India.
