Day 1 | In Pursuit of Happiness

Dear Self,

I woke up before my alarm today. Not because of anything dramatic, just... light coming through the curtains and for once, I didn’t roll over to scroll. I stayed there for a bit, just breathing. It felt good.

Made my usual toast and you know what... I got the butter-to-bread ratio just right today. That small win kind of set the tone. I made my morning matcha too. Warm, frothy, oat milk, a pinch of cinnamon. I’m not saying it changed my life, but it did make the morning feel a little softer.

Work was the usual... emails, meetings, that one weird silence on Zoom. But it didn’t feel heavy today. Maybe because I took breaks. I actually stepped outside during lunch. No headphones, no phone. Just me and the sky. Simple things, you know?

Someone complimented my shoes. They’re nothing fancy, just old white sneakers. But it made me smile. It’s funny how tiny moments like that stick.

I wrapped up work on time (a miracle), made a quick dinner and now I’m sitting here writing this. Candle lit. Socks on. Matcha in hand, again.

I don’t know if I’ve figured out happiness yet. But today felt close.

Love,
Nokū
